Dear NC-CCIM Chapter Members,

Before our Holiday Season and the beginning of a new year, I want to take time to thank our members, Power Partners, and staff, for their support and engagement with the NC CCIM Chapter this year.

We have had an eventful year with many successes which could not have been achieved without our executive committee and our board members who have worked tirelessly through our committees to offer programs that align with our core focus of education, networking, and technology.

This year we offered free CE (Gen -UP) and BIC -Up Classes as well as a commercial elective to our members this year. Thank you, Cindy Chandler, for agreeing to administer these classes online for our members.

We have been successful in our efforts to host many networking events in addition to our annual signature events that help us promote our chapter membership and education programs. This is evident by the increase in chapter membership this year by 24%.

Former NBA Player Rasheed Wallace helped us promote our first NC CCIM Charity Golf Tournament in Pinehurst this year. In addition to Rasheed’s promotional assistance, he was in attendance with former NBA Player and former assistant coach for the Charlotte Bobcats, Phil Ford. Their involvement and attendance made for an exciting day and as a result and were able to donate $10,000.00 to Back-Pack Pals, a division of the Eastern North Carolina Food Bank.

The first quarter of every year we host our annual statewide Market Forecast. This year we held the event in Durham. We co-hosted a networking event with TCAR the evening before and had great attendance at both events. I thank KC Conway, MAI, CRE, CCIM for sharing with us, his knowledge of the global economy and forecast for the future as it relates to our profession.

During our 2023 NC CCIM State Conference in Charlotte at the Charlotte City Club, Region 9 Regional Vice President Jason Holland, CCIM joined us and commended our chapter on our success with our first charity golf tournament and increased membership. Also highlighted during this epic event was the recognition of the Inaugural class of our NC CCIM Mentorship Program. We recognized (7) mentees and mentors; along with bestowing honors on our 2023 NC CCIM Chapter Award Winners.

The Chapter continues to strive to host core courses for the CCIM Designation and saw the highest enrollments post COVID.  Chapter Leadership has had the honor of pinning 14 new CCIM Designees and celebrated their achievement at a Pinning Dinner during the National Meetings.

It has truly been a pleasure and a privilege to serve as your 2023 Chapter President and a task not taken lightly. I have enjoyed working with everyone to share new ideas that will help our chapter flourish within the coming years. I look forward to supporting Phil Corriher our 2024 Chapter President and new board members as Past President and wish them great success in the coming year.

Happy Holidays,

Janice M. Dixon, CCIM
