Julie Pruett joined Marlboro Development Team in December 2021 to expand Marlboro Development Team’s (MDT) reach in North Carolina through the pursuit of build-to-suit industrial projects, speculative development, sale/leasebacks and strategic acquisitions in the industrial sector.

Julie joined MDT with over 24 years of experience in economic development in the Charlotte region of North Carolina. During her career she has worked with both national and international companies such as Cataler NA, Crate & Barrel, Gusmer Enterprises, American Fuji Seal, Flowers Foods, Arhaus, FiServ and GKN Driveline to attract over $632M in new capital investment and 5,000 new jobs. Along with economic development, grants administration and public budgeting, Julie has extensive experience with governmental planning and finance.

Julie earned the internationally recognized professional designation of Certified Economic Developer in 2009. Her educational background includes a Master of Public Administration degree from Appalachian State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Lenoir-Rhyne University. She is also a graduate of the University of Oklahoma Economic Development Institute.
